| Morning everyone! It's half midnight & I've just managed to find a site with a few tips that I'm hoping will help my painting! I'm sure most of you will already know most of this, but for us newbie or just downright "bad" painters, I think this could be useful! | It's given me a few tips on how to do shading...I'm thinking of priming a sheet of plastic & experimenting on that before I unleash myself on a model...when I DO have a go at a model, I'll probably shade the shoulder pad of an IG or Space Marine...then strip it until I'm comfortable with what I'm doing...
At the moment, I'm still not happy using washes or inks XD I have no idea what I've relly doing unless it's flat colour or drybrushing =[ |

| Try dipping! It is GREAT for flat colors! There is a tutorial (step by step) as well as some Terminators (DA 1st Company!) I made for Dozer. You may like! _________________ . | For my reccomendation on shading i suggest getting a product called Slow-dri by Liquitex. It retards the drying time of arcylic paint so that you have more time to blend the paint and work out your smoth transitions.

| @Mordheimer I've checked the dipping out, gives some surprisingly good results! Does the dip eventually dry out like the GW inks? =S
@dysturbed That stuff sounds pretty cool, not seen anything like it in the UK =[ but I'll try a few shops =]

| YES! Dipping is a great 'get off the ground' painting technique for beginners. Check out the Terminators... they blend in side by side on the table with Dozer's until you look at them carefully. Dozer's models are better... but considering I did all of them in 1 hour (compressed) of actual work and left sloppy parts on purpose, it is amazing! _________________ .
