DeafNala was kind enough to provide this link, directly from our friends at Tom's Boring Mordheim Forum, about this guy (Pake) who create a fantastic portable table. WOW!

One of the Guys at Tom's posted a link to his War Machine Thread with his folding gaming board:

The actual board starts on page 3 with the completed piece on page 6....strolling through the whole thread is recommended...there are some REALLY COOL thingies lurking there, especially for War Machine Fans.

Here are some pics of the finished board. If you like, stop by the other forum an congrat the guy... his work is AWESOME!!! Few pics... to wet your appetite!

Some details...

A pretty epic piece of work, it'd be nice to have a club with access to all those molds...course I'd still have to spring for the resin. I'm guessing it'd be way too heavy with that much plaster.

I plan on using World Works Games stuff when I start making a table, but something like this (which I think I could actually build) makes me want to try it. Maybe papercraft stuff for variety and a quick start and something like this when kids are older and I have time.

Looks awesome, but always the same layout. Boards NEED to be modular to be fun, IMHO.

That is pretty damn awesome.

As for it being modular, that is pretty similar to having a gaming mat with a few fixed features, the main terrain would be the buildings etc. which could be put basically wherever you want, so you could have a different game setting every time you play. I do agree that it would be nicer if you could interchange tiles within the briefcase though.

Making the portable table modular is the one thing I would do differently. Different tiles for different games.
