| Hello! I noticed some familiar names from some of the Mordheim forums that I used to frequent, but have sadly been away from due to a new job getting in the way. So, I may or may not be remembered by some on here. I am keeping the same forum name that I used on the various Mordheim forums. I hope to be a semi-frequent member on here and I will attempt to also go back on the other forums.
So, I haven't read the rules yet, are we basically playing 40k with altered Mordheim rules? Because that would be excellent. |

| Hi and welcome!
Saying Death Squads is 40k with mordheim rules is a huge oversimplification, but if you want to hugely oversimplify things, than yes (somewhat). (waits for Mordheimer to kick me out of the contributors team for saying such a thing....)
Death Squads indeed takes units from 40k and puts them into a campainging ruleset similar to Mordheim (or some would say Necromunda), but that is pretty much where the comparison ends. When you play DS you will soon find out it has many more levels and intricacies than a 'mordheim in space' game. In any case, there are people who can explain it way better than I can, so I'll leave that up to them.
Once again, welcome! |

| Welcome! Death Squads is not Mordheim in Space, however if you've played that you will definitely see a thread of that game in this one (much polished, debugged and generally ninja designed). It's an ongoing project and the best thing is that you can contribute to its development. Enjoy (and post hobby related pics) Laney |

I'll guarantee you'll enjoy the game AND think: whoa, this is what Mordheim COULD have been after another X years of development.

| I gave a once over of the rules; they look great! So many issues from Mordheim are not an issue here (shield vs. 2 weapon fighting, armor, et cetera). I really like the HtH weapons having AP.
We just need the SM Scout squad done (I love my shotgun scouts) and my GF really wants a Sisters option (maybe without power armor or with a limit of 1 like the chaos cult, we will probably try to make something up).
I just need to dig out some of the old Necromunda weapons sprues. I need more guardsman sized shotguns ans autoguns! |

| Ooh~ I like the idea of a Sister's or Ecclesiarchal Strike Force. Their 'Big Guy' could be an arco-flagellant...
Fun ideas! And welcome to the group! |

| On the autoguns - there are some ideas for creating your own autoguns in a sticky in the tutorial section. Cheers Laney |

| Welcome Long_John_Silver!!! Prius said it best... is more than Mordheim-in-Space. We have extensive background on Mordheim and other skirmishes, and we wanted to 'fix' many things we saw not right or overly complicated. So... where you calling from? You have a group to play with? I think you will enjoy your time with Death Squads!!! Enjoy! _________________ . The Mordheimer - Death Squads' Chief Editor & Ninja Designer. Bursting with ARACHAS' Dev-Powah™! | Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I hail from the Akron, Ohio area. I have a close group of friends who try to play a few games of Mordheim each month (I have about 8 warbands). We also like to play "40k in 40 min" although we generally do 500pts because 40k is not geared for more large battles (cheapest SM leader 100pts give me a break! We still generally never take a HQ choice). Arachas my apologies for mentioning things out of section; it was not my intention to start a discussion on it here, just a little shiny, new exuberance. should be a perfect fit for us and I am delighted I can use my ~30 Imperial Guard models that I mostly converted to veterans with various, not so codex correct gear options. |
