| After a quick look in the Rulebook I found the "Hired Guns" section. In my opinion one of the best things of Mordheim were the Hired Swords. It was such fun to save gold so you could hire that ogre or slayer. So it's a good thing that there are Hired Guns in Death Squads, but my question is: "are there going to be more?" WIA had some nice entries, perhaps some inspiration could be taken from those? |

| As far as I know, yes there will be more Hired Guns. They will appear as more Squads get formed. _________________ . The Mordheimer - Death Squads' Chief Editor & Ninja Designer. Support Bacteria; it is the ONLY culture some people have! . |

| I imagine the number of squads that will be able to hire any given Hired Gun would be quite restricted, which in many ways is nice since it will allow and even encourage large numbers of them to be developed, ensuring that each group has sufficient options.
For instance, while I could never see Space Marines taking on help that was not strictly part of the Imperium, the Guard may follow less stringent rules and could concievably even resort to Eldar or Kroot mercenaries if in dire need.
Hired Guns could also be a means of offering specialized troops that aren't a part of the standard death squad. For instance, a squad from the Tau empire may not typically include stealth suits, but one could be "hired" with extra resources to join the team in their mission. Similarly perhaps a lone Deathwatch or Grey Knight marine could join a squad of chapter marines. |

| Again Deathguard... you are reading my mind. First, it is an un-authorized intrusion. Expect a visit from the Friendly Inquisitor Agent soon. You are 100% correct. Not only we plan to use the Hired Guns to throw a curve on what Squads could be, but they also offer alternatives for units that are not common. For example, the Imperial Guard has the Medic... but the Imperial Renegades do not. The IR can hire a Health Care Professional to serve as their Medic. The IR could hire a psyker (forgot name), while the IG can not get one at all. We plan to add certain units, like Kroot Mercenaries, that could be hired by certain Squads. The Demolition Expert became a FUN Hired Gun in our last Campaign... my Orks and DaBank's IGs had one... we setup booby-traps everywhere!!! _________________ . | Here's a possible Gun for the Kroots & Orks (and maybe Hurds & Genestealers too, when we/you get to them): Tarellian Dog Soldier! http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/TarellianStatwise, I'm sure he'll be something like a Pit Fighter mixed with a Saurus. Easy enough to convert (stick a gun on a Lizardman and you're good), and will work for anyone who's not Human. |

| Although, I'm sorry to say, I can't imagine them working for pure-bred Tyranids.. they're just TOO dangerous to ALL life-forms! |

| Hmm, the issue of hired guns for Tyranids can be solved by having mutated gene, or unique species. Maybe you can't have a gargoyle as a member of the squad, but something one can be "hired" as a merc. Or maybe you could hire a zoantrogaunt, a gaunt with limited psychic powers. Then there are always those zoat creatures that ally with Tyranids and use their weapons. One thing is for sure, a lictor would be way to scary! It could probably take on 2 squads by itself! Special character perhaps? Campaign event? |

| HAHAH! You guys are awesome... everyone WANTS the 'Nids so bad. But not as badly as me! The plans for them are on the diaper-stage... and Tyranid Players will have a blast, always being able to challenge opponents fairly, yet they would have a HUGE selection of forces. There will not be a need for Tyranid Hired Guns... hehehehe... Details? When I'm ready... after play-testing this batch of Squads and completing the ones on schedule. Want me to hurry? Play-test Squads from TLRB!!!! Ain't I a Stinker? (sound bite) _________________ . The Mordheimer - Death Squads' Chief Editor & Ninja Designer. | Heh, he looks like a Saurus Blood Bowl player. Once again, I'll pull up "Uber_Kroot", who's mass convertions are by now infamous. (The same guy who converted a full army for K'nid, Hrud, Barghessi, and other "one line" 40k races) |
